Help Us
There are five ways you can help the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Program. (Areas of immediate need are highlighted in red.)
1. Donate household items
The Salvation Army welcomes donations of reusable merchandise such as:
- Clothing (gently used)
- Furniture (undamaged, without unsightly stains)
- Dry Goods (gently used)
- Appliances (clean and in working order)
- Bric-a-Brac (useable games, books, toys, pictures, nick-nacks, sporting goods, baskets, tools, etc)
Donations can be dropped off at the Minneapolis warehouse at 900 N. 4th St. or at any store location. If you have a large amount of goods, you can call 612-332-5855 to schedule a pick-up at your home or office.
2. Donate used vehicles
- To donate a used vehicle, call 612-332-5855 to set up a drop-off time. You will be advised of the items you will need to bring when you drop-off the vehicle (title and key sets). The drop-off location is the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center at 900 N. 4th St. in the Minneapolis warehouse district.
- If your vehicle is operable, it will be sold on the monthly Salvation Army online auction. The price it sells for will determine the amount of your tax deduction, according to IRS rules. Typically, the online auction brings a higher price for vehicles compared to conventional car auctions. The Salvation Army will mail you the information you need for your tax records within 30 days after the sale.
- If your vehicle is not operable, the Salvation Army may make arrangements to pick up the vehicle for salvage. The minimum value of the donation in this instance is $500.
3. Volunteer your time
To inquire, please contact Human Resources at 612-332-5855.
4. Be a spiritual mentor
- We will match you with a beneficiary in the program whom you can assist in his search for spiritual healing. Contact Human Resources at 612-332-5855.
5. Be a member of the Advisory Council
- The A.R.C.s Advisory Council is seeking to add new members who have an interest in helping the organization succeed in its mission. Men and women with management, retail or medical backgrounds, those with experience in chemical dependency and rehabilitation and those from the clergy can be especially helpful to our operation. The council meets once a month. Contact Human Resources at 612-332-5855.
